The principal
objective of the department is to have an understanding of
current research methodology, collection and interpretation
of data, ability to carry out research projects on clinical
and or epidemiological aspects, a working knowledge on
current databases, automated data retrieval systems,
referencing and skill in writing scientific papers and
presentations.
The
department provides services with all special stains, all
major panels of immunohistochemistry including the lymphoma
and myeloma panel. The department is equipped with research
microscope with attachments for phase contrast,
fluorescence, dark field and polarizing microscopy.
The
department is striving to be the state of art in the field
of oral pathology and is involved in the development of
centralized research lab which is being built as a part of
the Indian oral cancer research center
